As an online product, our Cut to Size then Primed MDF panels fairly unique. We take raw, un-primed, high quality, moisture resistant board, cut it, sand the edges, and then prime it. This process ensures the panels are fully primed all over, including the edges. Most of our competitors use a pre-primed MDF sheet that is cut to size after it has been primed. Naturally, this leaves an un-sanded, un-primed, raw edge. Whilst Factory Primed MDF has its place. and is suitable for some projects, it may not suit everyone’s needs. Almost all pre-primed MDF is produced using an average quality, moisture resistant, board. Our panels are superior as they cut from a high quality moisture resistant MDF. In addition, the edges are sanded and the panels primed all round. Each of our primed panels includes a single coat of water based primer to each side with two coats applied to each edge. The quality of the primer, and the amount of primer used, is superior to the factory applied option. SKU:CRE051

Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is an extremely versatile material which is created by bonding fine hardwood and softwood fibres with resin and compressing them under heat to the panels. Hardwearing, inexpensive and free from defects found in natural timbers such as splits or knot holes, MDF is a popular choice of material for cabinet-making, retail displays, exhibition stands, display plinths, theatrical scenery and decorative furnishings such as doors and radiator covers. MDF lends itself perfectly to CNC machining, and CNC Creations can expertly cut and create shaped, routed and grooved MDF panels up to a maximum size of 3660mm x 1525mm (12ft x 5ft). MDF can be laminated, painted, varnished or left in its raw state and accepts a wide range of fixings. Black MDF Board is pretty much a standard MDF board that has been dyed throughout with a black pigment during the manufacturing process. Cut it, shape it drill it, machine it, the end result is a black faced, black core MDF board. Black MDF wood panels are made by a number of companies including Valchromat, Fibracolour and Spanalux. We have access to all three manufacturers products however, we currently only stock the Spanalux black coloured MDF version. Our Black throughout MDF sheets are available in a maximum, untrimmed size of 2440mm x 1220mm and thicknesses of 9mm, 12mm, 16mm 19mm and 25mm. Finishing Black Core MDF To further enhance your project we can, upon request, supply our Black Dyed MDF panels with a laminated finish from a number of suppliers, in a wide range of colours. Our 18mm Ivory Melamine faced board is available from stock and is comes with the option of a pre-applied, colour matched, 2mm ABS edging. Oriented Strand Board, OSB for short, is made from orientated layers of small chips, or strands, from fast growing, rapidly renewable trees including Poplar, Aspen and or Pine. These strands are bonded together with a mix of waxes and resins and then compressed under immense pressure to form the boards. Due to its comparatively lower cost and stronger shear strength, when compared to Plywood, OSB has become the construction industry’s panel of choice. OSB is commonly used for sheathing under roofing systems and load bearing wall and roof applications. OSB in and around the home If you are lucky enough to own a shed, you may have noticed OSB board from the inside of your shed roof. However, some larger sheds, or timber built garages, will also have OSB cladding fixed to the inside of the walls. Flexible Plywood can be used on any interior project that requires a bendable material to create a curve. Our customers have used this product product for a wide range of projects including furniture, cabinetry, curved walling, display plinths, exhibition stands and much, much more. Which Grain Direction for Flexible Ply If you want to know which grain direction you need for Flexible Ply the key thing to remember is that the grain follows the length of the board and that the board bends along the length long of the grain. The panels are available in long grain (portrait, tall and thin) 2440mm high x 1220mm wide or short grain (landscape, short and wide) 1220mm high x 2440mm wide. Think of long grain panels creating tall, narrow columns and short grain creating low, wide round plinths. Why is PUR edge banding better? Without doubt, the PUR adhesives inherent, and superior bonding strength (when compared to EVA Glue) is completely unaffected by high temperature and provides a water tight, anti bacterial, bonded edge, that will not delaminate under any conditions. PUR glued, edge banded, panels provide a prolonged life to, otherwise susceptible, panels in extreme and demanding applications such as medical and hospital environments and, in particular, toilet cubicle panelling applications.

To further improve our Professional Edge Banding Service, we recently invested in a Homag S300 KDF1440. Its automatic glue flushing system, and the addition of a second, quick change, gluing unit, allows us to rapidly change glue colours to match the edging to give a near invisible, high quality glue line. This machine also features three automatic spray stations. The first applies a separating agent to help prevent glue adhering to the face of the board, the second, a lubricant to protect the face of gloss boards and the third, a cleaning agent to prevent a "shine line" when polished. Each feature of our new machine, along with skilled operators, and a robust quality control procedure, ensures each and every panel leaves our workshop with a perfectly edged finish.
